Little Stool Redo

I'm making great progress in my craft room.  It used to be my dad's bedroom before he passed.  Then it turned into a junk room.  Before I knew what happened it looked like a page out of one of those hoarder shows.  I would die of embarrassment if anyone had seen it in that state.

So, while cleaning I came across this sweet little stool.  I had plans to cover it with pink roses fabrics, but that was yesterday, or was it 3 years ago?   I've changed my mind.  I am liking the fun colors.  The aquas, raspberries, lemon, limes.  A mix of this and that.

Amy Butler has some of the most beautiful and colorful fabrics.  I had a hard time making up my mind which one to use and settled on Soul Blossoms Joy and a dotted Love fabric.

I painted my stool with semi gloss white.  There were a lot of staple holes that I filled before painting.

The foam I had for this little stool was 1/2 smaller than the wooden seat.  I had to compromise and added the dotted Love fabric to the bottom of the seat.  I hot glued to the sides and stapled to the top.  So far, so good.  I covered the foam and stapled  it to the outer edge of the seat top.

I made bias trim in the solid green fabric to hide my staples, but was not liking it.   I  added this sweet fringed trim and liked it much better.   The pink matches the center of the dahlia perfectly!!!

And here she is, in all her glory.  Is she not the sweetest little stool?

  7. Adorable!! I came from the Weekend Soiree and I'm glad I did. This is getting pinned for future reference, first I've got to find a stool. You know how it is, you trip over things you have no ideas for, get a plan, they're nowhere to be found, lol.
